We have all heard about the recent controversy surrounding Ballou Senior High School. What we have NOT heard is how our community plans to provide meaningful support for the students caught in the middle. HINT: Saying good morning at the door isn't enough!

Today we are joined by Markus E. Batchelor (Ward 8 District of Columbia State Board of EducationRepresentative), Comm. Karen Yvonne Lucas(Ballou Alum) and DCPS parents, students and staff. 

How do we dismantle a school system that has been failing our children for generations? Don't believe us, just ask Dave Chapelle. How do we stop allowing politicians and predators from using Ward 8 for political and personal gain? How do we identify quality resources for students outside of school? What resources currently exist for East of the River Parents? Why don't most parents use them? What barriers exist for community leaders and organizations to engage with students during their time in school?
