Tony is the author of the successful ‘Self-confidence for…’ series of books, available around the world. He has received many awards for teaching his personally developed processes for gaining, and maintaining self-confidence, including Adult Education Tutor of the Year. Countless people from different cultures and societies, with diverse customs and traditions, have all had their lives improved by following his proven methods. Tony’s formal training began in Mining, Mine Management, Industrial Relations, Interactive Management (the study of the relationship between employer and employees), Communication and Court Mediation. Tony has managed some of the biggest mining operations in Australia. He has been the National President of a white collar union (The Australian Collieries Staff Association) and worked as a court appointed Mediator for dispute settlement. To succeed at all those tasks he needed a high level of both expertise and self-confidence. Tony started studying how self-confidence works – privately, as there were no specific formal courses – when, as a young Mine Supervisor, he was often surprised by some successes, and disappointed with setbacks that he was not expecting. It was a big help that, while still young, Tony worked for Australia’s biggest company (BHP), who sent him to whatever courses that they, and he, thought would assist in the management of workers. After more than thirty years of study, and discussions with various professionals, including many psychologists, business and union leaders, and champion sportspeople, adjusting theories and personally developed methods, an unbeatable process started to fall in to place. That process is what Tony reveals whenever he talks to people. Tony now works full time, writing and working, as a Personal Development Consultant assisting people to feel good about themselves.
