Shirley Robert is a 37-year-old wife and mother of three children and is the Chief Learning Officer of The Kellan Group Inc. She sounds like your typical mom, except that she isn't. Shirley suffers from a rare and aggressive form of arthritis.

On this episode of GirlTalk -- recorded on location at Rudy's Eat and Drink in downtown Winnipeg -- Shirley talks about the physical and emotional challenges associated with living with a chronic illness, some of the most emotional and defining moments of her life (one involves a parking spot and the other at a Winnipeg Blue Bombers game). Shirley opens up about how she instills self esteem in her daughter when she struggles with her own self image and her role as a member of an advocacy committee for arthritis.

There is still time to take part in the 2012 Walk To Fight Arthritis. It happens in Winnipeg and across Canada on June 10th.
