Johnson & Johnson is considered the world's largest health-care products company. Today, a Texas-based court has found them guilty of medicaid fraud for pushing the unapproved use of Risperdal on children to the tune of $158 million. Not only did Johnson & Johnson push the drug on children, but they were also “downplayed the harmful side effects of this drug,” the Texas Attorney General’s Office said in a statement announcing the settlement. Marlo discusses the details of the case, the side effects of Risperdal as well as her own personal story involving one of her children.
