  • We Deserve Better - Dorrin Rosenfeld - DrD

    in Caregiving

Caregiving is a hard and thankless job. I've seen, both personally and professionally, the toll taken on individuals in that role. Wouldn't it make life easier to have someone else co-ordinating the services, social interaction, and time/supply needs? That's just what this organization can do for you. My guest is Matt McCabe, the VP of such an organization - www.lotsahelpinghands.com. His goal is to create a caring community for any individual who is the victim of any disease or chronic illness such as a traumatic brain injury. This community manages the essential services - both physical in terms of food and healthcare, and psychological in terms of social networking and social involvement, for someone who is unable to manage them alone.
As the primary service, this organization help co-ordinate the friends, families, and other volunteers to lighten the load on any one individual. A checklist can be better managed centrally so any helper can communicate with all the others; this way, necessary services aren't forgotten about or duplicated. Each caregiver can then concentrate on one aspect only and everyone will be more productive and efficient.
