E Harwood Website You know "that" song...the one that takes you back to "that" place and "that" time like the flip of a switch. There's something about the right combination of music, lyrics, and expression that makes songs a powerful way to feel connected, reached, comforted. But, how did "that" artist go about the writing of "that" song? How does a songwriter actually write a song? Singer-songwriter, E Harwood, joins us today to share how she answers this question. And, just for the record, it’s definitely an art.
E Harwood is a poetry singer-songwriter...with an edge. Her art intertwines the sonic textures of folk, rock, blues, and celtic within eclectic compositional structures. Her lyrics, however, are probably what distinguishes her songwriting style. Often stemming from insightful angles of life stories (including her own), E offers listeners opportunities to interpret, appreciate, and perhaps relate with her words.
E is currently recording her first album, entitled Dare. Most importantly, she continues writing new songs (23 so far!), the process of which will be the topic for this show, The Art of Songwriting.
It's good to talk.
