As a Business Coach, I hear it all the time,

  • "I can't get good employees"
  • "Why won't my workers show up when they are scheduled to work?"
  • "It seems as though all I do anymore is interview applicants these days"
  • "How do I get my employees to care about my company?"

The most intriguing part of this is that when I first meet employers and ask how their team is they tell me, "I have the best employees ever."  Only later I find out that the owner would hire back only one or two of the current set of employees.

Today we are going to discuss how to attract the best candidates and how to reduce the time in interviews while have a smorgasborg of choices that will all do the job for us.  I recently helped my local Chamber of Commerce hire a new Admin Assistant and we did it in very little time (approximately 8 hours total actual work) and we had 4 very qualified candidates to choose from.  The other 3 are now available for call-back in case the Chamber expands their operation or if for any reason the current incumbent is no longer available to work.

We'll talk about how to have a deep pool of candidates waiting for an opportunity rather than having to hire in a hurry, get the wrong employee, throw that employee at a problem and hope and pray that it works out.
