Join Us as we speak with the one and only Karizma!

Karizma's musical career started with him djing at age 13, doing various fashion shows and college parties, later on he landed a radio show on Baltimore's college radio station WEAA, playing hip hop. At the same time he was playing at various clubs around the city, with an obvious love for house music. He would often bump into Dj Spen and bug him for advice. As fate would have it Spen and Karizma would work together at radio station V103. This prompted the two to work together on his 1st Jasper Street Company album project. Karizma contributed the song E.B.W.2.R.T.W(Everybody wants 2 rule the world) and did drum programming on the track "Temptation". After this Spen&Karizma worked on Kim English "Tommorrow", Mary J Blige "Beautiful" , Kenny Bobien "Let me show you" and SuSu Bobien's "Thank you" . The rest is history.

Spen and Karizma (now with Basement Boys productions), went on to remix Everything but the girl, Amira, Lenny Kravitz, Ann Nesby, Ron Carroll, Roy Ayers, Boris Dlugosh, Bob Sinclar, Kathy Brown, Jocelyn Brown, Ministers de la funk, just to name a few. It was also in these remixes Karizma developed the "deepah dubs" and "deepah ones" moniker for his rendition of the remixes.

Flashing forward ...after a healthy career of remixes and productions, Karizma struck out on his own a formed Kohesive Productions. His first production "Samma Ganni" was released on Basement boys imprint "Elphunk". His remixes, redits and productions are heard weekly at the "Sky Lounge" bar on Thursdays, his residency in Baltimore. Many of his productions have been championed by the likes of Louie Vega, Simon Dunmore, Dj Spinna, Marquis Wyatt, Tony Humphries and many more.

Karizma is also an accomplished international dj, one of the most innovative on the scene.

The Legendary Thommy Davis Joins Us Live For Part 2!

Many know him from and connect him to is the collaboration that he and Teddy Douglas and Jay Steinhour formed called the Basement Boys. Their production company has made Baltimore legendary. The first release on Jump Street Recs, was a remake of a Rose Royce classic called “Love don’t Live here No More” featuring Teddy on the lead vocals himself. They continued on to produce now famous artist as Ultra Nate’, Crystal Waters, Mass Order(Lift Every Voice), and many other projects that gave the production company a name in the world and in the music scene. While with the original production company, Thomas and the boys received several awards, gold records and even a Grammy nomination. Maintaining several major labels at once, the boys broke the mold for the DJ/Producer. Projects such as Ultra Nate’ crossed the ocean and still to this day she has progressed and shown the world that she is a icon in her own right. Not just a DJ, not just a producer, not just a writer, Thomas (Thommy friends call him) consistently feeds the music scene with effervescence and passion. Many of his past works will make it hard to out do, but to know this brother you know that you wouldn’t bet against it. The list of songs that he has either produced or written or inspired is endless with his upcoming releases, about to expand. His current new releases are re-introducing House music and have the classic energy he is known for. His new collaborations such as with DJ Spen, Ultra Nate’, KW Griff, Dukeyman, Sybil, Terry Thompson the list goes on.....

JoVonn, "The God Father Of The Underground", Joins Us LIVE!

The legend joins us as we discuss his 20+ years in the business as well as his long awaited smash hit album "Blaque House" out now on Code Red Recordings.

Few house fans will have forgotten JoVonn’s arrival onto the dance scene when he released ‘Turn and Runaway’ in 1991. Reaching number 10 on the billboard charts, it was a record which shook the scene and since then the DJ has never looked back.

Inspired largely by the works of Strafe, JoVonn’s musical career has seen him produce hits such as Ceybil Jeffries’s ‘Love So Special’, Valerie Jonhnston’s ‘Step Into My Life’, and many others.

With an unbridled passion for Dance music, and boldly declaring the genre as ‘Spiritual’, JoVonn’s recent hits have included ‘Cliff Hanger’, ‘Old Man Groan’, ‘Jurassic House’, ‘Circle Dance’ & ‘Something About Dis Love (feat Carol Sylvian)’.

Since the launch of his own record label ‘Goldtone’ in the early 90’s, JoVonn has produced more than 200 records, gaining worldwide appreciation and adoration. He then moved on and formed the labels, ‘NextMoov Records’ and ‘NextMoov Traxx’, which, in doing so, have seen the DJ/Producer passionately push the sounds of underground house to the masses.

Indeed, JoVonn, or as he’s otherwise known as ‘The God Father Of The Underground’ continues to flaunt his versatility as an artist, and this is epitomised on his latest record ‘Blaque House’, a collection of tunes which first and foremost finds an artist in fine voice and instrumental form.

‘Blaque House’ is a sophisticated House album, combining precise percussive beats, intricate synth keys, blissed out Jazz chords and a voice as soulful as they come.
