Kathy Cunningham shared the statistic sexual trauma has affected 1 in 3 women and 1 and 6 men. Sexual trauma includes more than sexual intercourse, rape, and molestation. It includes inappropriate conversations, pictures, situations, more than what we label “sex.” I did not know this, so like the many who will see the title and think, I’m not affected by sexual trauma, I encourage you to listen to the show and follow Kathy’s recommendations. One of the many to dos that she mentions is creating a sex history list. This includes as far back as you can remember and anything you deem inappropriate or sexual in nature. Again, this includes more than sexual intercourse. Should I say that again, more than sexual intercourse. One more time for myself because I’m like you sexual trauma includes more than sexual intercourse. Who knows, maybe just maybe, thank God, you are the 2 out of 3 women or 5 out of 6 men who hasn’t experienced any sexual trauma that has negatively impacted your relationships and decisions. I’m asking God to examine my entire life regarding sexual trauma and bring to my remembrance situations I have denied to make my present livable. Not only to my lady lovelies walking through this emotional traumatic experience called divorce, but everyone reaching for that FULL authentic Christian life, when presented with a Godortunity (that is a God opportunity) to truly love again, I pray we are wise enough through the resources presented to us to love healthy.
