On February 2, 2007, Jeffrey Guterman, Ph.D. discussed the three main insights of Albert Ellis's rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT). Albert Ellis's REBT differs from models of counseling and psychotherapy in several ways. In particular, the model holds that individuals are largely responsible for making themselves self-defeatingly disturbed. They do so by indoctrinating themselves with irrational beliefs which are absolutistic demands.
