On the order of unloading, I had to comment. 1 - It doesn't really matter if you lock the slide back or remove the magazine first as long as the result is that you have a slide locked back and an empty mag well. 2 - Courtesy of Front Sight: Unload begins and ends with a chamber check / mag check.
