Joining the show....Justin Kantor is a music journalist with a passion for in-depth artist interviews and music reviews. His work has been published in Wax Poetics, The All-Music Guide, and on SoulTracks.com and SoulMusic.com. A graduate of Berklee College of Music's Music Business and Management program, he honed his writing chops as a teenager—publishing "The Hip Key" magazine from 1992-1996. The publication, which was created out of his childhood home in Virginia Beach, reached a circulation of 10,000 by the time he was 16. At Berklee, Justin continued to perfect his craft with a series of 'Underrated Soul' features for The Groove from 1997-2003.

Justin has interviewed more than 150 singers, songwriters, producers, and musicians for projects ranging from feature magazine articles to historical essays appearing in the booklets of CD reissues (labels include Edsel, Soul Music Records, and Funky Town Grooves). His ability to dig deep into the history of artists and their careers is paralleled by his passion for digging in the crates—with a collection of more than 10,000 pieces of wax, CD's, videos, and other music memorabilia, he infuses exhaustive research into each assignment he takes on. Additionally, his own experience as a performer at various venues in New York City and Los Angeles has added to his appreciation of the artists' work he admires so greatly.
