Disya fa We! Marches and Movements in the Land of the Gullah/Geechee

Tune in to hear about the marches taking place on St. Helena Island and Charleston, SC in June 2018.  As the Charleston Gullah/Geechee Famlee remembers the assassination of nine members of Emanual AME three years ago with a march and gathering for peace and against gun violence in that city, St. Helena Islanders plan for a protest. Penn Center, Inc.'s staff and board are planing to gate in the national historic landmark district which is not only in direct opposition to native Gullah/Geechees statements about a fence, it is also an affront to Gullah/Geechee culture.  Therefore, the Concerned Citizens of St. Helena Island, SC are holding a march and rally on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 10 am beginning at St. Helena Elementary School.  Tune in to hear how all of this started and what will take place.
