We are set to go with another classic game for this week's event in our Game Show Summer Olympics: Chain Reaction. And there's a twist that our current players are aware of which promises to put everyone involved in this production on the edge of their seats. Hey, I said it before: Be prepared for anything to earn this gold medal. The rules are otherwise the same as what you've seen on all versions of the show over the years. The following are the specific tweaks for this competition:MAIN GAME1) Contests are one-on-one.2) Each match will consist of 2 chains. Each chain will consist of 5 words to fill in between the first and last words given.3) Play is similar to the original versions of the show, in that the word-to-word links are NOT necessarily 2-word phrases.4) 250 points wins, with the winner getting C$250. If neither player reaches 250 after two chains, Speedchains from the Dylan Lane version will be played. The player who won the last word will play first, and have 5 seconds to complete the chain. If they fail, the opponent gets a chance. If unsuccessful, the next letters of both words will be added on each cycle until the chain in completed.SCORINGRound 1: 25 points per word, Double score for one randomly chosen word in the chainRound 2: 50 points per word, Double score for one randomly chosen word in the chainSpeedchain: 100 pointsBONUS GAME - INSTANT REACTION1) The "celebrities" for this bonus game who will be constructing the questions for the winner will be myself (Brian Sapinski) and David Hammond.2) The C$250 that the winner obtained will be built upon in this round.
