As of January 2011, LinkedIn has over 90 million registered users, so chances are good you have a profile. The next question is - what do I do with it? In an upcoming seminar in Louisville, KY we'll be covering Social Media-The Basics and we'll teach attendees how to use their Facebook Profile AND how to optimize their LinkedIn Profile. It's the LinkedIn Profile that usually needs the most attention. 3 Tips for the Profile: Tip #1: Unless you're looking for a new job, don't put your resume as your profile. Tip #2: Take advantage of how LinkedIn responds to search queries by using keywords in various parts of the profile. Tip #3: Write about yourself and your company/product/service in terms of the benefits and value of working with you. Yes, it's the basics. But after looking at many of our connections' profiles, and seeing what other professionals are doing (or not doing) we saw the need for a seminar. We've had good attendance every time we've offered this seminar in Louisville, and have been asked to teach it to specific offline networking groups as well. Listen in and maybe learn a new tip.
