Did your parents, teachers or guardians tell you things that they thought were useful and important, but you later discovered that they may have limited your thinking and your actions?

As children, adults tried to teach us "the right thing" and shared many a memory "gem," idiom, or expression, such as:

  • Don't put your hat where you can't reach it
  • Don't trust strangers
  • Don't go out at night
  • A leopard cannot change its spots
  • Boys don't cry
  • Girls don't whistle
  • Finish whatever is put on your plate
  • Rich people get their money through ill-gotten gains

Our parents did they best they could with the knowledge and understanding they had then, so we do not blame them for what they taught us. However as adults, now responsible for our own lives, are we aware of some of the limiting beliefs that are holding us back from expressing who we uniquely are and from living our best lives?

What are our limiting beliefs, that we were taught in childhood, and and how can we re-programme our thoughts so that we can have a positive belief system that heals, uplifts and supports?

Philosophy expert, Professor Anne Reichold discusses some of our limiting childhood beliefs and how we can move beyond them, with Growing Consciousness co-hosts Tam and Dr Chan.

Join us for this inner exploration and powerful discussion.
