Debi Nelson has always loved to write about what she sees around her. Her passion for bringing the wonder and awe of nature to others is what drives her to write. Moose have capitated her interest since moving to her cabin by the lake. Debi's earlier writing was for professional magazines in her healthcare area of expertise - health information management. Since 2011, Debi has been mostly published in ND nature magazines along with her wildlife photography. Debi is married to Dean, and together they have two grown children and five grandchildren, whom she includes in this, her first book in a series. Debi's blog, since 2014 at www.acabinbythelake.com

About A Cabin By The Lake: Grandpa and Grandma built a cabin by a lake in North Dakota after a flood destroyed their home. This cabin is the setting of life between Grandpa and Grandma with the different activities necessary and enjoyable with cabin life as they move between the fours seasons of the year. Little visitors come to the cabin (their grandchildren) and Grandma takes them on walks, through the woods, while she shows them the woodland and lake animals that live there. There are 'fact boxes' scattered throughout the book with facts about the animals along with heartwarming stories and color photographs. This book combines many areas educators have applauded such as history, art, animal safety, conservation, and animal habitats. Using this book as a classroom reference has been suggested with students writing about some of the animals and then presenting back to the class for both presenting and listening skills for students.
