Welcome to my blog,

Here I shall share with you my journey in environmentalism and enlightenment.  I hope that you will gain some knowledge and insight to change your life for the better.  The only guidance I can give you on the information contained within is to use that which speaks to your heart and leave that that does not for someone else.  This is my experience; you must have your own.  My hope is that you may gain knowledge, insight and a better way to walk our earth in this life. 

So here is where I started.  I lead a very unconscious life for many years, although I did live somewhat close to the earth and her creatures I was trying my best to fit what I had been taught was how you should be.  Well I have never fit in with the crowd, and finally figured out that being like everyone else was not what it's cracked up to be.  For me all it lead to was a lot of pain and wasted years.  But I did learn a lot about the society I live in. 

So I began a journey to free myself from the shackles that kept me from being my true self.  I looked at many spiritual paths and got close to nature and my child.  I have dealt with alcoholism and verbal abuse at the hands of a man who claims to love me and our children.  Yet through this I have risen above and found the light that was forgotten, I now guide, teach and help to lead others to a better way of life for all.

So let’s get to the how I became the Green Earth Fairie.  I went to a festival at a beautiful farm one lovely spring weekend.  There I met some wonderful people and found a place where I could grow and become a better person.  The May Day Fairie Festival at Spoutwood farm, the magic of this event and place entranced me and I wanted to become more involved.  So I went to a meeting and volunteered for the only committee that no one else wanted to deal with trash.

that first festival was a major wake up for me.  The amount of garbage generated at an organic farm that was supposed to be teaching about being sustainable and walking lightly on the earth, blew me away.  There were about ten thousand people in attendance that year and the count of garbage bags stopped at around two hundred and fifty.  The estimate is three hundred to three hundred and fifty.  The recycling that went on was done by some wonderful people who picked through trash and recycled bottles and cans.

Well, I found this to be a joke.  How in the world could anyone find this to be acceptable?  For crying out loud, this was a sustainable living education center.  I found it to be about as hypocritical as _______ you fill in the blank, we all know hypocrites.  So I started looking for better ways to do things.  Now you have to know we are talking about eight years ago.  Before Al Gore and being green was hip.

I found compostable food service products and started the Zero Waste program.  Yeah now everyone is talking about zero waste, I should have gotten the copy write that one.  And that first year I reduced waste down to about thirty or so bags of garbage.  In the following years the number of attendees has grown to over sixteen thousand over three days.  And I have been pretty much solely responsible for keeping garbage to fewer than twenty bags.  I have had come into my realm a very small hand full of devoted volunteers who with joy filled hearts sort compost and recycling while my small son and I keep waste stations and haul to the sorting area.

I am no different than everyone else out there, no that’s not true.  I have done this while having someone tell me daily that I was worthless, that I was less than worthless.  There are two different messages I hope are taken from this.  One no matter what anyone tells you YOU ARE SPECIAL.  You can do ANYTHING.  Do not listen to those who try to put out the light that is you.  Rise above, do not spend forty years of your life living in pain and suffering or no matter how many years you have been in that role of believing you are nothing, allow me to show you the light.  If you are one of those who get yourself esteem from beating up others with your words or your fists, you too can be brought to the light.  Words do more damage than fists, as you do not have the bruses and scars to show you have been beaten and are told to get over it, this is not so easy. 

So here you can find a different way to live.  Live in love, light, joy and peace.
