Welcome again to your Masonic Home Companion,
Sit back, relax with a cup of kool-aid and we'll give the world a sample how freemasons talk with one another to welcome a New Year.
Whether we view time as loops of strings of renewal or as a continuing thread, whether we understand what it is that we are measuring, whether we realize time is constructed by men how much does it really matter?
We are the boys who contemplate, watch, listen then take action. In an era that has made politics of the notion of equality, freemasonry stands for the debt that all people owe to themselves- freedom. Despots can't stop it. Power can't stop it. Fear disguised as respect can't stop it. Only ignorance can delay the natural process of freedom, the debt owed to every living thing.
In the first chapter of Morals and Dogma, you'll find reference to this debt. Not that Albert Pike was in any sense a beacon of purity, he was a real and I would say a complex person.
Within our Order each one of us is unique and complex with a texture that we own. And given that we are a diversified group, I hope you can help me answer a question that has been pressing on my mind for awhile.
The premise is something like this; that most of what we do, the choices we make tends to ignore the facts and tends to be made on what we believe. It is like saying we ignore science and embrace the things that stroke our ego's.
My question isn't whether or not we agree with that idea. There is too much evidence floating around. Can you help me understand if we can influence a greater use of science?
Freemasonry is based on the fusion of science and belief. Everything quark, every bosun, all is connencted. The kabala allows us a deeper understand just how the mind is linked.
Beverage in hand.
A Joyful New Year Brethren
