    Steve Pohlit is a currently licensed CPA with an MBA from Xavier University. However, I advise all that my most valuable experiences have come from working with top leaders in business. My career experience, which is extensive, is only relevant if that experience helps you and your business now. I have a consistent laser beam focus on you achieving clearly defined business and personal goals.

    I mention personal goals because it is very important that a business leader be personally in alignment with the mission of the business and at the financial performance goals of the business. If not, business performance is likely to fall short of intended goals regardless of the level of coaching and consulting work. 

    My approach to every business situation is one of no limiting beliefs. So many times opportunities are missed because of negating an idea or opportunity before it has had a chance to be considered and tested. Actually, in my experience I have learned that the number one value a business consultant brings to a company is the mindset of an independent view. As a business leader, it is important to accept you are selecting a business consulting firm for their skills as they relate to helping you and your business. What is most important to you is how I help you and your business. Notice that focus. Any service provider you select must have a passion about helping you achieve what is possible for your business.

    Do not expect any sympathy from me on external circumstances including interest rates, competition, economic conditions, banking climate, work ethic and more. Guess what none of these situations are new when viewed from an historical perspective. For example: the effective interest rate for money I borrowed to buy a business in the mid 90"s was well in excess of 20%. I borrowed the money, purchased the business and was ultimately successful with that deal. Was the rate that high because that was the lending rate at that time? No, that was the rate I had to pay to get someone to lend me the money. No loan, no deal, no business…that was the alternative. 

    The process I guide companies through is designed to meet or exceed very specific revenue and profit goals. I am totally focused on success stories for the business and business leadership while I am working with the client and after I leave. For the process to successfully continue following project completion, business leadership and everyone working in the business moves to a level of development that is different from where they were  at project start. This rationalized change in the way everyone thinks about the business and works within the business is key otherwise the less than optimal results experienced prior to the start of the project will return.
