In a recent article in the Oregonian, CenterCal Properties announced plans to upgrade a shopping center in Tualatin, Oregon, across the freeway from their successful Nyberg Woods mall. Couple that with Targets construction of a CityTarget store in Portland's Galleria center and plans for Apple to move from their current Pioneer Place basement location to a demolished and rebuilt street-level site Saks used to occupy and you can't help but wonder if the "worm is turning" in Portland commercial real estate. Is this true? How about the rest of the country; is there reason for optimism? Given Bob and Jerry's history with CenterCal and home base in metro Portland, this seems a worthy topic!
It's good to talk.
