While stationed in Germany in 1971-1973 . I had to learn a very good lesson about gossip. One of my wonderful neighbors came to me and told me while I was moving in the apartment something about a neighbor. Of, course being young and unleaned of the ways of the world. I took everything to heart and then ask another neighbor had she heard this also. I was then gossiping !!! The lady came to me crying saying why did you say that about me. You don't even know me. I told her how sorry I was for repeating this story. I ask a German Grandma how can I undo what I had done? She said, Honey go get me two ffeather pillows and a knife. She cut the pillows and walked out on the balcony and of course , when she shook the feathers out of the pillows the wind blew them everywhere. She said, "now go pick up every feather,'' of course, I could not. She said, " neither can you undo the words, you have spoken.
