In September 2005, Mark Turner left Warwick Preparatory School to establish closer links with a range of establishments in education (specifically as a strategy, planning, management and leadership advisor working with category schools in Grimsby, Hull and the public sector, to support in achieving the highest levels of motivation and performance efficiency from their staff thereby delivering improvement. This has involved creating an awareness of the ‘people element’ within organisations; helping them to achieve individual, team and organisational success related to the vision of the establishment and the recruitment and deployment of appropriate staff.
Since then Mark has worked with businesses in the automotive production industry, local government, universities, academies and some of the leading independent schools in the UK.
Formerly a senior manager in a foundation of independent schools, Mark was responsible for the professional development of staff and performance management.
Mark now works with a number of schools (as an associate consultant with IAPS) helping to establish and maintain the engagement of all staff in a changing environment, thereby creating proactive, responsive workforces. As part of this, Mark’s company, through their 30 associates, runs Dynamic and Emerging Leaders programmes aimed at supporting organisations to achieve ‘more with less’. Inclusion is key and is developed through recognising the intrinsic motivation of individuals and working to meet this need on an individual and team level, whilst empowering line managers to recognise and manage the motivational needs of others so as to achieve the strategic goals of the organisation.
