During Women's History Month we turn our attention to Black Women and Self Care, and Health Issues. After taking care of children, eldery parents, job responsibilities, the church, the community, friends, and a wide range of extended family issues, there's often not much left for women of all stripes...especially Black Women.
We'll explore this important topic with leading expert Byllye Avery and a new book on the subject, Health First! A Black Woman's Wellness Guide.
Byllye Avery is a well respected women's advocate and founder of the Black Women's Health Imperative.
Then we'll take a walk back in time and pay tribute to Ellen Craft who staged one of the most daring and dangerous escapes to freedom in American history.
