Discussion - "Honor Killings" - In Europe such murders were once seen as "domestic" issues, and though "honor killings" are now recognised as a cultural phenomenon, why are there no efforts to tackle the community mindsets that encourage or tolerate such abuses? When honor killings take place because such families/communities think it is "wrong" for young people to adopt Western ways, why are they living in Western countries? If they have contempt for the West, why is nothing being done to encourage their assimilation into the countries they live in? Are policies of multiculturalism encouraging communities to never integrate? Do they perpetuate these communities' atrocities against their young people that ultimately lead to honor killing?
