Leadership is not just about the here and now, but the future as well.  The future is not always well defined but is coming nonetheless.  Philanthropy often looks back to determine its future, but sometimes we need bold forward visionaries to harness the power to be changemakers in our community.  Leading into the future is not always easy but with the right people at the helm, like Mae Douglas, it is not impossible.

Ms. Douglas enjoyed a storied and well-decorated 37-year career as a Human Resources executive that spans two major industries and culminated with her tenure as a highly revered C-suite executive for Cox Communications, Inc. in Atlanta.  Cox is a communications and entertainment company and third largest cable television company in the United States.  Ms. Douglas is known for her work to promote equality and inclusion in corporate life while offering mentor and sponsorship support to multiple high-potential employees and minority women. Likewise, her passion for social advocacy has provided a steady tone that helps define her values and serves as a backdrop to her career.  Throughout her career, she remained active as a community leader by working with various non-profit organizations and philanthropists. After her retirement from corporate life and returning home to Greensboro, she is now fully devoted to philanthropic projects that empower the poor and advocates for those unable to speak for themselves.
