Show Notes

GRI conducts investigations based on scientific method and investigation techniques. Here on our show, we discuss local haunts, cases we've been fortunate to be on and to often feature other groups who have much to teach and share from their wealth of experience. Our goal is to bring science and even a bit of enjoyment (code word for FUN!) to our investigations. Science is not always the explanation for what we encounter, but using it to explore these topics is the best way to the truth in our opinion. Part of the process of exploring haunts, the paranormal and the spirit world is to learn a bit of the history and reason *why* we see paranormal events at various locations. We teach history as well as science in our frequent field missions. Join us weekly as we feature guests from all over the United States!

Links from Elizabeth Eagan-Cox show of Oct 23'rd

Our guest from the October 23'rd show, Elizabeth Eagan-Cox, provided us some great links in the show with regard to Grave art and researching cemetery/graveyards. I'm providing an initial clip of the email she sent me to share with all of you from this very good show which was her second appearance on our show (she will be a regular with next appearance in early 2010). I will also provide a link to a presentation I put together on EVP which is a great reference for anyone interested in EVP and a beginner's guide:

From Elizabeth - Links on Grave Art and more:

In tonight's chat I will be giving out some free web site sources pertaining to Grave Art research:

    1. First I will explain the difference between a "Cemetery" and a "Graveyard."

    2. Funeral Customs for different cultures and religions:
(from front page, use search box at top right corner and type in the phrase "Funeral Customs" up will come a short list of results and choose the article:
     "The Transformation of American Funerals."

    3. Locating graves and cemeteries: www.FindAGrave.com
(from front page choose surname search, from there the search choices can be personalized by surname, states, etc.)

    4. Association of Gravestone Studies, www.Gravestonestudies.org
(from front page scroll all the way down to the very bottom and click on "site map"
then from the site map page, choose FAQ.  FAQ has general information and on this page are articles pertaining to Grave Art symbols.

    5. Often we discover that a grave will have initials that stand for an organization the deceased belong to. To locate a present-day list of the dozens of societies and associations follow the link at:
and choose from the menu on the left: Society Lists. This is truly mind-boggling!
