This is not your traditional Bible Study.
In this Bible study we explore different versions of the Bible and you are called upon to think for yourself. I will help to guide you and give you my unique perspective on these inspirational teachings.
This week we continue on our journey through the Letter of Paul to the Romans resuming at Chapter 10. This book of the New Testament is filled with sometimes controversial information. Paul addressing the newly converting people of Rome discusses many key points in the doctrine of Jesus the Christ. We explore what was written and what it means to us today.
This is one of the most important books in the New Testament as it is often misinterpreted to promote hate and exclusion of non-Christians. When this book is read in its entirety, it explicitly warns against that type of 'pseudo-Christian' thinking and behavior.
I invite you to read the book of The Letter of Paul to the Romans to see its rich, nurturing text for yourself. BEWARE of reading passages out of context. And also Be Aware that different versions of the Bible were interpreted with a certain outcome in mind [usually to control the populace -especially the King James version which was politically mandated]
For my study I prefer the AMPLIFIED BIBLE, and compare it to the King James and other versions. The Amplified Bible seems more complete in that it gives you the many interpretations of important words that sometimes will change the meaning of the passage. It is up to you to feel with your heart and soul wherein lies the truth of these works.
I believe that parts of the Bible are Inspired by God, others are simply the opinions or elucidation of the authors [or interpreters]. It is our duty to discern the former from the latter, and through this, bask in the Light of our God. Blessings!
