geo welcomes author Rand Flem-Ath who, along with his wife Rose, has just revised and released a follow up to his 1995 book When The Sky Fell. Building on the evidence assembled for Atlantis in the 2000 book The Atlantis Blueprint (co-authored with Colin Wilson), Rand revisits the hypotheses of Atlantis and presents overwhelming data on this lost chapter in human history: Why did the President of the United States authorize the State Department to hunt for a secret map belonging to Christopher Columbus? Why did Albert Einstein write to an obscure professor: "One can hardly doubt that significant shifts of the crust of the earth have taken place repeatedly and within a short time."? What debilitating disease is shared by the Haida of remote Canada and the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt? Why are the same stories repeated at campfires around the world by Elders who speak of a time when the sky fell unleashing a devastating flood? How does a US naval map solve the riddle of the lost island continent of Atlantis? The answers to these and many other mysteries fill the pages of this significantly expanded and updated edition of When the Sky Fell. Years of fresh research continue the adventure started in the original classic including the exploration of recent scientific breakthroughs that have turned traditional models upside down and support the case for the existence of a forgotten, advanced civilization that perished 11,600 years ago - when the sky fell.

    The DaNichi Code Part II

Did you know Leonardo Da Vinci wasn't the only painter in our past intentionally hiding codes and secret messages in artwork? Renaissance painter Hans Holbein was renowned for his portrait of Henry VII, but I am interested in his mysterious painting titled The Ambassadors, a Tudor age portrait of two noblemen surrounded by: a crucifix, a distorted image of a human skull, a lute with a broken string, swastikas patterns in the table cloth fabric, several alchemist symbols, a Cosmati floor pattern, an open book displaying the words "Divide", a cylindrical sundial, an astronomical globe, a polyhedral sundial, a damask curtain, a compass and set squares, an empty flute case, a Lutheran hymnbook, a hymnbook showing The Ten Commandments, and a gold medallion depicting St Michael.

There is more, much more, but most fascinating to me are the musical clues I found throughout Hans Holbein the Younger' esoteric painting The Ambassadors, in the future, I might even incorporate a Holbein code into a song. As for Holbein himself, he was an enigmatic persona of the Renaissance era; he left the world with almost nothing to describe his life in great detail. Besides the intricately precise works of art, Holbein left no diary, journal, autobiography, or notebook, to help anyone understand him completely. It's like he existed on this planet for a singular purpose: to create art immortal.

The Role of Scientific Concepts in Art

    Jesus R. Soto

Leonardo, Vol. 27, No. 3, Art and Science Similarities, Differences and Interactions: Special Issue (1994), pp. 227-230

    Doi: 10.2307/1576057

    Abstract

The author examines how the new concepts of space, time and matter, put forth in science at the beginning of the century, can transform the imaginary world of artists. In this opinion, artists should not try to study the details of scientific theories or concepts, but should instead grasp the fundamental principles and general philosophy underlying these ideas and use them in artistic research. The author illustrates his discussion with examples of his artwork.

I leave you with a quote from Leonardo Da Vinci: "If the painter wishes to see beauties that would enrapture him, he is a master of their production, and if he wishes to see monstrous things which might terrify or which would be buffoonish and laughable or truly pitiable, he is their lord and god. In fact, therefore, whatever there is in the universe through essence, presence or imagination, he has it first in his mind and then in his hands…"

In another life I wrote: "Anything in existence, even it's most complex structure or form; anything can be analyzed down to its most basic elements to obtain a greater understanding of its universal meaning, and purpose."
