Author, Professor, Dr.Sheena Iyengar has researched and studied choosing discovering many surprising things about it. Her famous "jam study," revealed that when we're presented with too many choices, like 24 varieties of jam, we tend not to choose anything at all. Her analysis examines, for example, the medical decisionmaking that might lead up to choosing physician-assisted suicide, the disadvantages of being confronted with too many choices and options in social-welfare programs, and on the cultural and geographical underpinning of choice. She's just published her first book, The Art of Choosing.,In the book, she explores questions such as why choice is powerful, and where its power comes from; the ways in which people make choices; the relationship between how we choose and who we are; why we are so often disappointed by our choices; how much control we really have over our everyday choices; how we choose when our options are practically unlimited; and whether we should ever let others choose for us, and if so, whom and why. Join Dr. Sheena Iengar, Geo, and Nakisha for a compelling enlighting episode.
