Singer, songwriter, & producer, Joel “Shoobie” Wright has worked with some of the finest local as well as national artists in the business on or off stage. Joel came back to his Louisiana roots after his 4-year term in the military(Army) where he started another combo with Chester Daigle on Keyboards and Mike Kittling on sax for about four years. Joel also worked with other local artists like Gervis Guidry, Classie Ballou, Jr. and Sr. and Ed Fruge` and Jaye Ecker (Director of McNeese State University Jazz Ensemble). Since his traveling days, Joel was the opening act for shows like Lakeside, Midnight Star, Margo White, Marvin Gaye, Marvin Sease, Shirley Murdock, Bobby Womack, Katie Webster, Freddy Jackson, Ramsey Lewis, War, and Denise LaSalle. Joel has co-produced several artists in Nashville, TN like Charlene Harrison, Dixie Travelers, and Earl Gaines under T.R. Jaye Records for the incomparable Ted Jarrett (writer) as well as many arrangements of his song catalog.
