Whoa, Nellie!
I had the audacity…no, the unmitigated gall to take my out-of-shape, 30-something-year-old self out on the soccer field with my lean and energetic 5-year-old niece this afternoon. And do you know what I got for it?
A click and slight pain in my left knee, stiff and sore muscles everywhere, and the absolute best time I have had in months!!!
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know I’ll be paying for this little outing tomorrow and maybe even the next day. But I am so glad I agreed to join my sister (who is suffering just as I am) and her daughter in the park today. We ran up the two-stories-high hill, kicked around the soccer ball, swung on the monkey bars, laughed, and played for a couple hours. The adults nearly had little heart attacks, but it was all worth it. Just to be out there in the fresh air on this bee-YOO-tee-full day, enjoying God’s creation and having a good time with my niece is worth the smell of BENGAY®. J
Three cheers for all of the soccer moms (and aunts) out there! We are definitely looking forward to soccer season, when my niece takes the field as a first-time member of one of the township recreational teams. She’ll be taking up where her mom and aunts left off so many years ago. Family traditions. Don’t you just love it?
PRAISE THE LORD!
God bless you and yours!
