Did you know that every 40 seconds a child is reported missing in the United States . Of these missing children, 33 percent are African American children. There are astronomical numbers of abused, missing and murdered African American children that fail to get the needed exposure in the media. Very rarely are their precious little faces posted on milk cartons and bulletin boards, or reported on network and cable news shows. Saving Our Children was created in March of 2007 to address this alarming epidemic. Our mission is to make the African world aware of the plight of these children, and to make them a community/national priority. Because we strongly believe that every child’s life is important, regardless of race and socioeconomic status. Please help us spread awareness about this current crisis. Please visit out website (www.savingourchildren.bravehost.com) for more information about the organization, and to observe the slide show of many of the children that are currently missing. Please feel free to contact us at any time at (516) 333-9882. We thank you in advance for your assistance.

Grace and Peace to you!
The following excerpts were taken from an interview by Paul Bradshaw with Rick Warren, author of Purpose-Driven Life and pastor of Saddleback Church in California. The interview is a few years old. But it’s extremely powerful. In it, Warren shares some new insights he has gained about the purpose of life, in light of his wife’s recent bout with cancer and his newly attained wealth from increasing book sales.

I know that question is loaded, but I had to ask it that way to get your attention. This morning, I read an Associated Press article about a senior at a Christian high school in Ohio who has been told he will be suspended from school if he attends he takes his girlfriend to her public high school prom. The school’s stance is that it has a strict policy prohibiting students from engaging in immoral activities, such as “dancing, rock music, hand-holding and kissing,” according to the article. Though the teen’s family agreed to the school’s rules in writing, they believe that he should be able to walk at graduation later this month. But school officials will not have it if he steps foot in that secular school prom. Now I know what many of you are thinking: “What in the world?!”… Wanna finish reading this post? Yesterday morning after I dropped off my niece at school, I witnessed a noisy altercation in the parking lot.
A woman in her car was yelling at a man who was walking his daughter to the door. Apparently, the man had been speeding in the parking lot prior to driving onto the school grounds. Here’s what I heard:
