Mike and Tom continue with with Capt. Guy Cruthers about his road to forgiveness after 5 years in the infamous Hanoi Hilton:

From The Show: When you are tortured like that, when you are in agony for hours and days in these ropes you just can’t imagine how bad the pain is and you have to … it is just you can’t get out of it. It is right there. You are twisted and tied up so badly and so tightly everything in your body is stretched, all the tendons and ligaments and everything, you are tied up into a great bag of pretzel. Shoulder is dislocated and everything like that and it is just really painful. What happens is that you start thinking of … what you’d like to do to them. You basically begin to hate, you get angry because of pride. It is because of pride that you get angry.

I had pride, I’m not talking about anybody else, but I had pride. Being a fighter pilot and having a good academic record and good athletic record and so on, I had pride and as a result it is how can they do this to me and how dare they. We are good people. We are fighting for our country and so on and so forth. For them to be so viciously cruel was just not understood at first and then realized and then it became … I mean the hatred gets to the point where it is almost constant. As that happens after months, I believe Satan just leads you more and more into this revenge thing and as a result you start getting thoughts into your mind. His story of God's generosity through him is amazing DON’T’ MISS IT!!
