A popular writer, speaker and TV guest, Megan Smolenyak² does all she can to get the g-word out there and inspire others in their quest for roots. She has appeared on Good Morning America, the Today show, CNN, NPR, and the BBC. In addition to consulting on shows ranging from Who Do You Think You Are? to Top Chef, Megan is the author of five books, a Huffington Post contributor, and former Chief Family Historian and spokesperson for Ancestry.com.

Mark Lowe
Mark Lowe is a full-time professional genealogist, author and lecturer. While sharing personal experiences that help beginning and experienced researchers gain new skills and insights for research, he specializes in Kentucky and Tennessee resources and researches primarily in original records and manuscripts throughout the Southeast. As a national and regional speaker, he has brought these areas of expertise along with his unique humor and southern style to many diverse audiences.
Lowe has published articles in the Association of Professional Genealogists Quarterly (APGQ), the Genealogical Speakers’ Guild SPEAK!, The Longhunter (So. Ky. Genealogical Society), The Middle Tennessee Genealogical Society Quarterly and other local society publications. His own publications include Robertson County Tennessee Marriage Book 2 1859-1873. He formerly was the Vice President of Development for the Federation of Genealogical Societies (FGS), Vice President of the Genealogical Speakers Guild (GSG) and Past-President of the Southern Kentucky Genealogical Society.

Diane Rapaport
Diane Rapaport, a former trial lawyer, has made a new career as a historical consultant, genealogist, award-winning author and popular speaker. She offers an unusual combination of expertise and experience—in law, history and genealogy—and she enjoys discovering and telling the stories of our past. She specializes in court records and other historical resources of New England, and her current research focuses on African Americans and Native Americans in the colonial period.
Diane researches New England black sheep, mostly in the Colonial period using court records as the main resource. She is the author of The Naked Quaker: True Crimes and Controversies from the Courts of Colonial New England, as well as the long-running column “Tales from the Courthouse” in American Ancestors (formerly New England Ancestors magazine). Diane has also written the only reference book about finding and using New England court records: New England Court Records: A Research Guide for Genealogists and Historians.

Gayle Gresham
At an early age, Gayle Gresham heard stories about the Black Sheep of her family, her great-great-uncle Ernest Christison, a cattle rustler in Colorado who did time in the state pen. Today she is writing a book about Christison and his cattle partner who was hanged. Gayle is a librarian, freelance writer, speaker and GeneaBlogger who has over 25 years of genealogy research under her belt.
