Unspoken is a poetic novella that tells the story of three generations of five women bound by family. This collection of persona poems is written from each woman’s prospective and, thus, brings their voices to the surface. Inspired by the strength and determination of women, these poems explore the roots of fear, love, independence, loss, and redemption. They share the secrets these women keep hidden in the depths of their being. In the end, it all comes down to self-discovery. Like many of us, they are all on a journey to find out who they are and where they fit in. Along the way, they stumble, but will they find their way back up again?

Imani Marshall-Stephen is a New York City native, born and raised.  She graduated from Spelman College in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and from Kennesaw State University in 2012 with a Master of Arts in Professional Writing.  Although she is a multi-genre writer, poetry is her first love.  Unspoken: a poetic novella is her first published collection of poems. Besides writing poetry, Imani enjoys yoga, good food, great conversation, and her best friend and husband, Ostus.
