About "The Crown of Muirnin & Jim Paul:

On her twenty-second birthday, Shannon Maguire finds herself transported to a parallel world populated by fairies, elves, goblins, dragons, dwarves, and… there are more than she can name. They proclaim her the Crown Princess of Muirnin.
The evil Prince Olcán, of the Unseelie race, believes the tradition of having a human Queen is wrong. He seeks the crown for himself and is willing to kill anyone who challenges him.
The Wizard Edwulf Magusson explains to Shannon that she may stay in Muirnin for two weeks. She must then return to her home world for at least two weeks in order to maintain the balance of time that exists between the two worlds. He also tells her the Crown of Muirnin disappeared, probably stolen by Olcán. Shannon must find the crown when she returns to Muirnin if she is to become Queen. She learns that the conflict over who should rule threatens to touch off a war could destroy both Muirnin and Earth.
Shannon learns about the staff at the Palace and the ladies who serve her in addition to holding important jobs. She also learns about the religion of Muirnin. Most of all she is stunned to find out that her Uncle Aonghus is the Regent of Muirnin until she is ready to assume the duties of Queen and her nanny, Mary, is at the Palace.

Jim Paul lives in a small, former gold-mining town, in the Sierra Nevada foothills about forty miles northeast of Sacramento, CA, with his wife Sylvia. Retired from IT systems design, programming and support in manufacturing, Jim spends his days writing and editing. The Crown of Muirnin is his first novel. "I found writing a romantic fantasy novel a lot of fun," Jim says. "It allowed me to use my imagination in creating characters, animals and places. It also allowed me to use magic. I look forward to the next Shannon adventure, The Fairy Triad."
