Gayle D'Ambrosio-Crabtree grew up homeless under the watchful eye of her maternal grandmother. Her mother could not make ends meet for her small family. After a surviving a rape and beating that left her with a head injury, Gayle went on to become a a National Daily Point of Light. She has received recognition from 2 US Presidents. She has appeared on national, regional and local television and has been written about in local newspapers and international publications. In 2007, she was named a "A Woman Worth Watching" in the international publication The Flier by the Commission on the Status and Role of Women of the United Methodist Church. Her inspirational message to others is "If I can, you can too!"
