It's Not Poetry, It's Stoetry

Words of inspiration dedicated to all those who are feeling down around this time of year. This stoetry was slightly modified from the book version in order to speak to a broader audience 

You Will Rise 

I hope they are not judging you by your position 
Because they may not know that to you, this is just a rest station 
Where are your friends who always followed you around? 
It’s funny when hard times hit they can’t be found 

The time has come for you to lift yourself up 
Because I know it has been a long time you’ve been in this rut 
I am here to tell you that you are better than what people say you are 
I know, because I have been watching your progress from a far 

You were created in the image of God so I know you’re important 
Believe me your going to make it, despite the circumstance 
Everything you need is there for you to use 
I know how you must feel when you thought no one believed in you 

But they are not looking at you from God’s point of view 
If they did, they would have seen that a lot of what they were saying wasn’t true 
It would hurt to see your vision and your future go to waste 
So please make good use of your time and pick up the pace 

No one is allowed to take away your dreams 
Some think they know all about you because of what they have seen 
But I have news for them, you are not done yet 
Your tears will dry and you won’t always be upset 

It’s ok if the situation got to you, you are human 
But one thing you must do, is to get up from there and stand 
Stand on your own two feet so that people can see you 
See that when the chips were down you found a way to make through 

I will be right here if you need, I am going nowhere 
It is unfortunate that you did not see any compassion from your peers 
I hope you will take these words and use them to become wise 
Because I will be there watching you, when you rise
