Democrats got their noses bloodied yesterday and they only have themselves to blame. If Health Care Reform with a public option had been passed last summer as it should have been, they would be basking in the afterglow of continuing popularity. Their self-imposed impotence made it possible for the GOP to take two governorships in key states. On the other hand, the hard core conservatives lead by Rush Limbaugh and the hate speech choir got knocked out by a democrat in NY-23. Now that was the defining race of the lot - Sarah and the other intervenor's dipping into upstate New York politics got pushed back to square one.
