    Peachi's Blog WEEK 07/14/08

Finally! Death and destruction all in one two hour session. Yes, I've been
handing guilds their asses and sieging all week. There is nothing like the
smell of hard work smoldering beneath raging fires, with the owners of the
disaster looking upon you trying to figure out how to stop their impending
doom. Again, one of the best parts of Age of Conan is the guild siege
    aspect.

Your guild is not only a cluster of people working together to down dragons,
but you work together to build a city for your people where they can perfect
their chosen professions. You make it bigger, and better and once it's big
enough, you can build a Battle Keep that's attackable by anyone that wants
attack it. Here is a bit of where the politics come into play, since
obviously if you've managed to piss off the entire server (like my guild has
managed to perfect) then you have a line of people wanting the chance to
tear down your hard work. But this also means you get the same chance to
    attack those same asshats.

As you can imagine, the excitement was at its peak as we waited for the
final minutes to tick off the clock before the siege began. The goal of your
guild is to destroy walls, buildings, and people, each allotting a certain
amount of points for each. The defending guild starts with a predetermined
amount of points and the more buildings they lose, the more points are taken
away. We ran in and started pounding on walls, killing mercenaries that were
flanking us, and made our way through each of their buildings that took days
to build. It took amazing coordination for all 48 of us to beat through
walls and completely retarded singled out defenders running at us as if they
were Mel Gibson in Braveheart (don't be a hero guys).

Watching the walls burn down. Great success!!

    IMAGE
At the end of the siege we destroyed a few walls, and all of their buildings,
however, the time ran out before we had acquired enough points to tip the
scales in our favor. But as a looked around and everything on fire, I
couldn't help but feel a sense of victory knowing the hours they'll have to
farm resources to rebuild that fiery hell. Somehow it gave my twisted mind
something to smile about. If we would have succeeded we would have had right
to take the city as ours. Next time. It will all fall next time.
