  Why GGR, Gameinatrix and Gamer ChiX Exists

  It's been quite a week for us here at GGR and at Gameinatrx.com.  Mostly a fun week, but there is always a dark side to the fun. Well I shouldn't call it a dark side, but more of a reminder for us as to why we exist. Why all girl gamer sites exist today.  Because we still have the sect of people out there that miss the message.  Women gamers, girl gamers, female gamers, or whatever you want to call them are gamers too.  Because we have a different physical anatomy does not figure into anything to do with gaming, we just don't get the hostility. 
  
  But if you've listened to our show this week you'll hear one such example of what we as women gamers go through, (Now dubbed the breast call) and I have some IMs from XBL I'm going to share.  Parental Descretion is advised here.  Let us provide the background here.  After the show last week GX got a friend request from a player named hydroglif (a post regarding this was made on the Xbox forums, but the gamer tag left off it's been requested that gamertags not be posted this way...we have no such restrictions here. If you were brave enough to send obscentities then be brave enough to withstand the heat that may possibly follow). GX accepted the request and a little while later began receiving text messages from hydroglif that were relatively harmless. Info about what was on the marketplace and how many points.  She didn't find this at all offensive.  We all send out notices and things to our XBL lists..we're a community and should share things..not in excess of course but it's something all of us with websites do quite regularly.  If someone finds it offensive, the positive response would be to ask for them not to be sent to you, or simply leave that persons list. Problem solved.  GX jokingly sent this response to hydroglif:
  
  So you're just spamming me eh?  And here I thought you wanted to be my friend cause you liked me <sniffles>
  
  Now if GX had been seriously offended most likely she'd have just taken him off her list or asked for those not to be sent.  hydroglif responded with these for messages and no we did not alter these, bad spelling and all...copy and pasted in their entirety:

  So the next time you ask yourself why GGR, Gameinatrix.com, Gamer ChiX, PMS Clan, Frag Dolls, Gamergirlsunite.com, Girlsgamingguide.com, Killerbetties.com and womengamers.com exists..know that we're not kidding. There are people out there who are not quite right and think this is the proper way to speak to a fellow gamer..all over a joke. 
  
  This is why people flock AWAY from gaming and XBL and the media attacks us, because of people like this.
