Recent comments about the environment for openly gay male athletes in professional sports by active NFL players Chris Culliver and Brendon Ayanbadejo have set off a bit of a firestorm for different reasons. On this week's show, Game Changers Live will discuss the recent surge in talk about the possibility of active athletes coming out in the near future.

We'll be joined by former NFL player Wade Davis, who came out in 2012. Davis, the Co-Founder of YOU Belong, is a LGBTQ advocate & board member for You Can Play. We'll also speak with Jim Buzinski & Cyd Zeigler, Co-Founders of Outsports.com.

Buzinski's work has appeared in the New York Times, Huffington Post and been featured in ESPN, Sports Illustrated and CNN. Zeigler contributes to the Huffington Post, Out magazine and The Advocate.

We will discuss how this fascinating & important scene is unfolding, if it is good or bad for the athletes, about the allies in some of the sports that have been supportive in the media and about projects like You Can Play and their impact on the issue. We will talk about the likely fan reaction as well as the differences between the attitudes in men's sports vs. women's sports. We'll also reference the political landscape in the country by citing the Supreme Court Case regarding same-sex marriage.

Tune in for what will be an intelligent discussion of the issues at hand without all the salaciousness and gossip-mongering that currently seems to surround the topic of gay athletes by the media.

We'll also talk the state of LA Hoops & the playoff hopes for the Los Angeles Lakers with hoops blogger Rey Moralde of The No Look Pass.

Join us on Wednesday at 7pm ET/4pm PT for A New View from the Sideline!
