Can Olympic host cities sustain the outlandish expenditures that we have seen over recent years? We'll discuss the upcoming Winter Games & the challenges that will be faced in Sochi and beyond on this week's episode of Game Changers Live.

Russian tycoon Vladimir Potanin is opening up his wallet as Sochi, the host city for the 2014 Winter Olympics, prepares for the athletes to arrive in 11 months.  According to a recent NBC News article, wealthy Russian oligarchs & private investors are reportedly pooling their money & investing $50 Biliion (yes, b-b-b-billion) on the upcoming event.  That would put the bill at 8-9 times the final tally from the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver.

We've seen the financial market in Athens completely crash after hosting the 2004 Summer Games while brand new stadiums and arenas remain unused. Capital issues remain the primary concern, as Sochi organizers attempt to improve the public perception of Russia. But, finances aren't the only challenges. Weather may be another huge challenge that organizers will face.  We break it all down on the show! Join us for the conversation.

Tune in Wednesday at 1pm ET as we provide a New View from the Sidelines...Olympic-style!!
