TNAV is produced by GallantFew, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit that helps veterans transition from active duty.  Our purpose is to prevent veteran unemployment, homelessness and suicide.

Today's guest is US Army Ranger Veteran Chris Bemiss.  Chris writes:

"Aaahhh Rangers my name is Chris Bemiss. I am a former 1/75 ranger. As a ranger I was on 5 deployments. On my fifth deployment I was injured in Mosul Iraq and two members of my team were killed. I began drinking heavily then upon my return to the states. May 7 2005 I was drinking and driving and flipped my car I was ejected and broke my neck at c6c7 making me a quadriplegic. As a result of my accident I spent 19 straight months in the hospital. When I finally went home I turned to drugs and alcohol to cover up my PTSD.

My actions destroyed my Marriage and the people around me. The very woman that had helped to save my life in the hospital and had married me while I was still in the hospital was verbally abused for 6 years because I was not facing my PTSD. Thankfully God gave her the strength to divorce me this year and move on.

I was devastated but my Ranger brothers pulled me back from the brink and it motivated me to fight PTSD and help my brothers. That is why I have been on this journey this last month to motivate myself and my brothers, and without a doubt it is working...RLTW"
