Surprisingly, this will have nothing to do with Social Media, Websites or Internet Marketing (directly). We have heard that internet advertising is the answer to the fact that businesses won’t necessarily get more traffic from sources like the yellow pages. And while that is partially true, it does not necessarily build a very deep rooted strategy.
Charles believes in the very same principles in which he uses to operate his own business. First, he believes in thoroughly understanding the market that he is serving. He asks his clients to do the same thing. Secondly he believes in knowing why customers buy from him; on reasons that may or may not have to do with price.
Even in what some believe is a challenging economy, not every industry; not every business can or needs to compete on the basis of price. The proliferation in online couponing, deep discounting sites and their offers is an indication that more businesses feel the heat for customers and jump into sites like living social and Groupon. While we believe that those sites can, if properly used, provide a shot of cash flow and infux in “warm bodies”; they need to be accompanied by a mature understanding of the market forces.
