I often get asked the question: How to find a good homeopath?

Find a Homeopath here

A good practitioner has many characteristics and different patients have different needs. When looking for a homeopath, I recommend the following:

  1. At least 5 years of experience, treating at least 100 new patients per year. Some homeopaths have been in practice for a while, but may not have that much experience. Homeopathy may only be a part time profession for them.
  2. A homeopath who continues to keep updated with reading and attending conferences on homeopathy and medicine. Homeopaths who teach homeopathy are forced to stay up to date.
  3. Has a sound knowledge of pathology and medicine and knows when to refer to other health care practitioners.
  4. Ask them if they are a classical homeopath. If not, find someone else.
  5. Has good boundaries and acts in a professional manner at all times.
  6. Is punctual and does what he or she says they are going to do.
  7. One who is approachable, listens to you and makes you feel at ease.
  8. Keep accurate notes and maintains your file for a minimum of 3 years after your last visit.
  9. One who always has your best interest in mind.
  10.  If its a physician homeopath, he/she should have homeopathy as 100% of their practice and not something on the side.
  11. Ask if he or she has experience treating your condition.
  12. Find someone that you would feel comfortable talking to.
  13. If you have difficulty finding a homeopath, call the study group in your area or Find a homeopath here
