HW appeals to two aspects found in the scant details connected to Melchizedek. First, he translates his name and rank; then he argues from his lone Bible story--his single interaction with Abraham.

This is "Hebrew mind-set" at its best. Names mean something. Rank carries symbolic meaning. History is really also allegorical. We will do well to note the nuances and let ourselves be informed by the intricacies and precision of the details.

Who was the Pirest of God most high? He was "King of Rightouesness" and "King of Peace!" What did he do? He accepted tithes from Levi and blessed the Patriarch, Abraham! Who was the coming Priest (by oath and promise)? He was a Priest just like Melchizedek (who is thus shown to be superior to Aaron)!

This is a spectacular argument. Join me: Let's walk through it together.
