Jesus was not merely another in a long line of prophets from Yahweh, He was Yahweh! No angel could claim this.

His message, therefore, is so far superior to anything angels could deliver that men everywhere should sit up and take notice: This is God superceding all previous communication with the Last Days pronouncements of Jesus.

On the surface this chapter promotes the superior nature of Jesus over the angels. Regarding being God's Son, angels were commanded to worship Him. As to being God, angels are His ministering spirits. In as much as He is Lord, angels do His bidding on behalf of those who inherit salvation.

Examined at a deeper level chapter one also yields many powerful eschatological nuances. It was, after all, the Last Days when Jesus spoke. If you will, think critically about that comment. Jesus spoke in the Last Days. But, Jesus spoke BEFORE the Day of Pentecost and DURING the days of Moses! (Does that mean the Last Days were beofre Pentecost, while Moses was still valid?)

We're gonna find treasures on this field trip. Join us for an exciting ride!
