TOPIC:  How and When To Pray Part 1

Sub-Topic: God isn’t deaf, He heard you the first time!

TODAY'S DISCUSSION: Have you ever promised your children a special gift or toy for a specific time such as their Birthday, Christmas or for good behavior?  You know what you said, and you have ever intention of keeping your commitment to them, even when they don’t deserve it because you are bound by your word.  Yet sometimes our children don’t trust us to keep our promises and they continue to remind us so that we don’t forget to do what we’ve said. While an occasional reminder is acceptable, we don’t want our children to whine and continue to daily ask for the same thing that has been promised, we want them to trust and believe that they will receive it in due season. Our Heavenly Father has said “Ask and it shall be given, Seek and ye shall find, Knock and the door shall be opened to you.” We’ll get better results in our prayer petitions when we learn how and when to pray without always whining and asking God for the same thing over and over again.

SCRIPTURE  TEXT:  (Matthew 7:11)  If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
